Indian smartphone manufacturer Karbonn has launched a new 5-inch phablet- the Karbonn Smart A111 in the Indian market. Though there has been no official announcement about the device till now, but the the phablet is listed in-stock by the online retailer Flipkart at a price of Rs.10,290.

The Karbonn Smart A111 is a dual-SIM phablet and boasts of a a 5-inch screen but the display resolution hasn’t been listed yet. The phablet is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Scorpion paired with 512MB of RAM and comes with 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card.

The rear of the Karbonn Smart A111 houses a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash which offers Auto Focus, Burst Mode and Face Detection along with a front-facing VGA camera which can be used for video calling. The phablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, houses a 2,100mAh battery and for connectivity, it gets 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.

Considering the price point and the specifications of the Karbonn Smart A111, it seems that the device is clearly aimed at taking the Micromax Canvas 2 head-on. The Canvas 2 from Micromax has been quite a hit amongst the masses and right now, is out-of-stock in many parts of the country.
