Nokia announces Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 at MWC
After successfully launching the
high-end and mid-range Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and 620 last year, Nokia is
now shifting focus to bring the goodness of Windows Phone 8 on budget
smartphones as well. The Finnish smartphone maker has now announced more
affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphones- the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Nokia Lumia 520 is an entry-level Windows Phone 8 smartphone and can easily be dubbed as the most affordable Windows Phone
8 smartphone till date. The Lumia 520 gets powered by a 1GHz dual-core
processor paired with 512MB of RAM and sports a 4-inch super sensitive
display with a resolution of 480 x 800.
The Lumia 520 will come with 8GB of
on-board storage which can be expanded by up to 64GB using a micro-SD
card. The smartphone houses a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 1,430mAh
battery. The entry-level Windows Phone 8 smartphone will come in five
color options and would be launched in India in Q2 2013 with an
estimated price tag of 139 euros (excluding tax).
On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 720
will be a mid-range device and would come with a 4.3-inch ClearBlack
Gorilla Glass 2.0 display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The
Lumia 720 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor paired
with 512MB of RAM and houses a 6.7 megapixel camera at the back with
f/1.9 lens and Carl Zeiss optics which allows the Lumia 720 to give a
high-end camera performance. The smartphone also gets a 1.3 megapixel
camera with wide-angle lens at the front.
Just like the Lumia 520, the Nokia Nokia
Lumia 720 too comes in five color options and the device would carry a
price tag of 249 euros (excluding taxes). The Nokia Lumia 720 would go
on sale in India and other markets around the world in Q2 2013.
