Micromax Funbook P600 goes on sale at Rs.9,499 in India
Micromax has upgraded it’s lineup of
tablets in India and has launched a new budget Android tablet- Funbook
P600 at a price of Rs.9,499. The tablet is only available via the online
retailer Snapdeal as of now, but will probably soon be available at
other online retailers as well as stores across India.
The Micromax Funboook P600 supports
voice calling and 3G connectivity and sports a 7-inch capacitive
touchscreen display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm
Snapdragon MSM8225A processor along with 512MB of RAM. The biggest
disappointment with the tablet is that it runs on the older, Android
4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, whereas some other 7-inch tablets, priced
lower than the Funbook P600, run Android Jelly Bean out of the box.
The tablet gets 2GB of on-board storage,
which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card. The Micromax
Funbook P600 houses a 2 megapixel camera at the back and a front facing
camera as well, but no details have been revealed about the front
camera yet. Though the tablet supports 3G and Wi-Fi for connectivity,
but misses out on Bluetooth and GPS, which is a very big disappointment.
Also, the size of the battery hasn’t
been specified yet, but Micromax claims that the Funbook P600 can give
up of 4 hours of running time on a single charge. Though the voice
calling and 3G capabilities of the device are quite a good addition, but
at it’s price point. there are surely some better spec’d tablets
available in the market.
