The luxury car maker Audi has launched a
refreshed version of it’s Q5 SUV in India at a starting price of
Rs.43.16 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Audi Q5 has been roaring on the
Indian roads since 2008 and this is the first facelift for the car,
since then. The new version was unveiled during the Beijing Motor Show
last year and his now made it’s way to India.
On the exterior, the new Audi Q5 sees
some minor changes as it gets new headlights with LED-daytime running
lights encircling them, just as the other Audi’s and also, a revamped
grille and bumper and at the back it gets new tail-lights. As far as the
interiors are concerned, little has changed here as well and the Q5
gets a new MMI infotainment system. The interior of the new Audi Q5 gets
some extra chrome treatment, revised fabrics and a revamped steering
wheel.
Commenting on the launch of the new Audi Q5, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said,
There are a host of design and mechanical changes
that strongly accentuate the sporty and distinctive off road character
of the Audi Q5.
We hope to continue our impressive performance and mark an equally strong growth in 2013 despite uncertain economic conditions.
The new Audi Q5 is being offered in
three variants, two of which are diesel and one is petrol. It retains
it’s previous 3.0-Litre TDIq and 2.0-litre TDIq diesel engines and
the 2.0-litre TfSIq petrol engine. All the three engines have been
tweaked to increase the fuel efficiency by as much as 15 percent while
the performance of the Q5 has been enhanced as well.
Audi has gained quite some momentum in
the Indian luxury car market and in a recent report by the Times of
India, has pipped Mercedes to grab the No.2 position in India.
