Instagram photo feeds finally hits the Web!

It seems that the popular photo-sharing service Instagram has decided to shed off it’s ‘mobile-only’ image because soon after the company launched web profiles, it has now revamped it’s desktop website once again and now allows it’s users to access their profiles on the desktop just like they do on the mobile app, giving them access to all their photos on the Web, including the one’s being uploaded by the people they follow on the Instagram.

Kevin Systrom, the Co-founder of Instagram said in a blog post,

Your Instagram Feed on the web functions much like it does on your mobile phone. You can browse through the latest photos of people whom you follow with updates as people post new photos. Like photos by double clicking on them or pressing the like button. Or, engage in a conversation around a photo with inline commenting. Browse through pages of the most recent images to keep up on what’s happening with the people you follow in realtime. And shrink your browser down to a single column for your feed to look more like your mobile feed. Simply put, we’ve brought a simple, powerful, and beautiful Instagram browsing experience to the web.

From now onwards, Instagram users can head over to Instagram.com to view all their pictures as well as photos from their friends and the feed would automatically be updated as new photos pour-in.

You also get access to all the standard Instagram features such as double-clicking on a picture to “like” it and the inline commenting enables the users to comment on photos. However, one feature that is still missing for web users is that they cannot upload photos on Instagram and the company says, “ Instagram is about producing photos on the go, in the real world, in realtime”, so the ability to upload photos is still limited to the mobile phone.
