Airtel launches ‘Apna Chaupal’, a voice based portal for value added services



in a bid to tap-on the increasing rural mobile subscriber base in India, Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of a new voice-based portal known as ‘Apna Chaupal’, which will provide information to the subscribers in their local language on various fields such as agriculture, current updates on market rates, government job updates, health, education, etc.
Commenting at the launch of the new service, CEO – Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel, Rohit Gothi said,
At Airtel, it is our constant endeavour to provide life enriching services to our customers across the country especially in the rural markets. In line with this, we are happy to launch the Apna Chaupal service for our customers who can now easily avail all the relevant value added services from a single portal at 58080 without having to memorize the individual dialing numbers of each of the services.
The service is designed specifically for rural and semi-urban subscribers and would enable them to browse through a complete list of the available Value added services and subscribe to the one’s of their choice, by simply dialing the toll-free number 58080.
‘Apna Chaupal’ will allow the subscribers to easily gain access to various services like agricultural techniques, quick updates on Government jobs, current market prices and the users would also be able to listen to devotional music like live Aarti’s from popular religious shrines. The subscribers will also be able to access a host of entertainment services like Hello Tunes, Comedy FM and radio and also receive real-time updates on cricket matches, and much more right on their mobile phone
