Lava has launched a new budget Android tablet for the Indian market- Lava E-tab Xtron for a price of Rs.6,499. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is available online via Flipkart.

The tablet offers quite impressive specifications for it’s price and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core cortex A9 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. The Lava E-Tab Xtron sports a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and features 8GB of on-board storage which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a micro-SD card.

The budget-Android tablet houses a 2 megapixel camera and comes loaded with all the standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, 3G USB Dongle support, Bluetooth and USB. The Lava E-tab Xtron comes with a 3,500 mAh battery which according to the company, can provide an up-time of up to 4 hours.

Though Lava E-tab Xtron isn’t the only 7-inch budget Android tablet available in the market, but at it’s price it is certainly the best low cost tablet (on paper, at least) your money can buy at the moment. 

The Lava E-tab Xtron will face competition from the like of Acer Iconia B1 which retails at around Rs.7,999 in the Indian market and offers a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 1.2GHz dual core processor paired with 512MB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 0.3MP front camera, 8GB internal storage along with a micro SD card slot and a 2,710 mAh battery. The other big competitor for Lava’s new low-cost tab  comes in the form of  WickedLeak Wammy Desire which boasts of a 7 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1.5GHz dual core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 0.3MP camera, 8GB internal storage along with a micro-SD card slot, and a 3,000  battery, all that for a price of Rs.6,499.
