Sony has just launched it’s latest

smartphone is already up for pre-order via Flipkart and soon would be
available via all the major online-online and stores across the
country.
The Xperia Z features a 5-inch Full HD
(1080p) display which is almost a benchmark for all the flagship
smartphones in 2013 and is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4
Pro quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of
internal storage with a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion, which
is quite a relief as more and more flagship devices now a days tend to
miss out on an additional card slot. Though the smartphone runs on
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the box, but will soon be upgraded to
Android 4.2.
The Sony Xperia Z sports a 13-megapixel
camera with an all-new Exmor-R sensor and also, a front-facing 2.2
megapixel camera for video calling. The Xperia Z also boasts of some
cutting-edge features like being water resistant till a depth of one
meter and has front and back of the device is covered with glass.
Along with the new Xperia Z, Sony has
also announced the Xperia XL in India, which is the younger brother of
the Sony Xperia Z. The Xperia ZL features all the top-end specifications
of the Xperia Z but misses out on it’s water resistant abilities and
get’s rid of glass-back panel and comes with a textured plastic rear
cover. The Xperia ZL is also slightly thicker than the Xperia Z.
The other big announcement from Sony in
this event came in the form of Xperia Tablet Z. The new tablet from Sony
would be up for retail sale in India in Q2 2013, though nothing has
been revealed about the pricing of the Xperia Tablet Z yet.
On the specifications front, the Xperia
Tablet Z gets a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200
pixels. Under the hood, the Xperia Tablet Z is powered by a 1.5GHz
Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the box and just like
the Xperia Z, it will also be upgraded to Android 4.2 soon.
The Xperia Tablet Z comes with 32GB of
internal storage but unlike it’s counterparts like the iPad 4 or Nexus
10, it also features a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion. The
Xperia Tablet Z houses an 8.1 megapixel rear camera with Exmore R
technology which should make it perform quite well in all conditions.
The tablet also features Sony’s “S-Force” virtual surround sound system
and Xperia Tablet Z will also sports LTE connectivity along with NFC,
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Another striking feature of the tablet is that its
quite at just 6.9mm, even slimmer than the iPad Mini and weighs just
under 500 grams (~495g).
Other than these top-end devices, Sony
also announced the Xperia E smartphone for entry-level buyers. The
smartphone will come in single-SIM and dual-SIM configurations and
should be available by the end of this month. The Xperia E from Sony is
powered by a 1GHz processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It features a
3.5-inch display and a 3.2 megapixel rear camera.
The single-SIM variant of the Xperia E runs on Android Jelly Bean out-the box whereas the dual-SIM variant would ship with Android Ice Cream Sandwich

the Xperia E hasn’t been announced yet, but we expect it to be around

Xperia E.
