Apparently leaked images show what seems
to be the Galaxy S4 smartphone, Samsung’s next-generation flagship
mobile which is set for launch this week. These images popped up on
Chinese forum 52Samsung.com this morning.
The pictures, if legitimate, confirm
several of the widespread rumours about the forthcoming phones
specifications, particularly the upgrade to a massive 5in screen.
The specs match out to the previous
rumours: Full 1080p HD AMOLED display, runs Android OS 4.2.1 (might come
with 4.2.2 out of the box), 1.8GHz processor (“Universal5410? might
suggest it’s the rumoured Exynos Octa 5410 CPU), 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera
and a 2MP front-facing camera, a PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics processor.
The overall design looks similar to the Galaxy S III, but if real, the
GS IV will sport aluminium around the sides.
Another hotly anticipated feature of the
forthcoming handset is Samsung’s patented ‘eye tracking’ system, which
will allow users to automatically scroll through webpages by simply
casting their eyes across the display.
Hype for the smartphone — the company’s
biggest iPhone rival — is higher than ever, meaning that Samsung is
under a lot of pressure to wow its fans with something more than an
incremental update to its previous models.
Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S4 on March 14th.
