BlackBerry Q10 Up For Pre Order In Ind
BlackBerry loyalists rejoice! BlackBerry Q10, the second BB10 running smartphone from the Canadian smartphone-maker is now up for pre-order in India.
The new smart phone features BlackBerry’s ‘immensely loved’ physical QWERTY keypad, and thus, one can expect the BlackBerry Q10
to outperform the Z10 in terms of sales, as many of the current
BlackBerry users who wish to upgrade their devices, prefer a physical
QWERTY keypad over a touchscreen one.
However, the pre-booking isn’t official,
as the smart phone is up on pre order by a prominent online retailer,
who says that the smart phone will be launched in India
by 4th week of May. Though the price of the BlackBerry Q10 hasn’t been
disclosed yet, but you can pay Rs.1,000 in advance, while the remaining
amount can be paid after the official pricing details are announced.
Talking of the specifications,
the BlackBerry Q10 comes with a 3.1-inch 720 x 720 touchscreen display,
amounting to a density of 330 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the
smartphone gets a 1.5GHz dual-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and
PowerVR SGX544 GPU. The BlackBerry Q10 gets 16GB of on-board storage,
which is expandable via a microSD card.
The BlackBerry 10 running smart phone
houses a 2,100mAh battery. At the back, the smartphone gets an 8
megapixel camera, while at the front, it comes with a 2 megapixel
shooter.
BlackBerry Q10, which was announced on
January 30, went on sale in the UK last month, and if the initial
reports are to believed, it has been well-received by the masses. One of
UK’s popular retailers, Selfridges said that it sold thousands of the
BlackBerry Q10 per hour, on the first day of it’s launch, and within
just 6 hours, the smartphone went out of stock in each of it’s stores.
Even the company believes that the
BlackBerry Q10 gives them better chance (than the Z10) to re-capture
their market share. Earlier in an interview, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins had said,
We have very, very good first signs already after the launch in the U.K. This is going into the installed base of more than 70 million BlackBerry users so we have quite some expectations. We expect several tens of million of units.
